I know I am not the best at what I do, but I truly love drawing. I wouldn't want any other hobby.
I didn't know tile roofs would be such a challenge and now I understand why they aren't to commonly used in backgrounds. I could feel how hard I was pushing myself on the background and after it was all done it felt good to draw the cat which took maybe twenty or so minutes.
I racked up many hours on this.
I love how what takes you twenty minutes would probably take me hours, ha ha...All you amazing young artists. How? : P
This is such a beautiful piece of art- probably one of my favourites of your gallery. The shading on the roof tiles looks absolutely brilliant, and what I also love is that you never appear to rush things. The shading on the cat's fur is brilliant. I think the sunset and the clouds add an extra beauty and calm feel to this piece.
Oh, and I want to say that I also love drawing but I'd consider it more than an hobby, it's my passion, it keeps me alive(this sounds a little bit weird but that's the truth). Just keep drawing!
I feel the same way. I feel like when I said hobby there it was an understatement.
You too. I just saw you gallery and I hope you add to it!
The chimney stacks imply that the light is coming from the background
The cat is lit from the top left but possibly from beyond the foreground.
The cat's back is lit from the front left like it's face, but if that was the case the chimney shadows would be moving to the back and not the fore.
The shadows on the roofs of the houses in the background seem to curve around the house making the roofs look like they curl? but also implying that the light source is from the back right.
The shadow underneath the roof on the house behind the cat is coming from a light source to the right in the background of the image and the highlight on that houses roof also indicates that.
Darkness on top of the windows, surely that would be a highlight if the light was coming from the front or above on an overcast day?
The tree's also imply a shadow from the right...
The cats eyes are reflecting light from the foreground of the image... to the right...
The cats shadow is from right above it.
So the image setting dictates that there should be one light source but there seems to be at least four shadow directions independent of one and other...
If it is the sun, there should be only one light direction but there seems to be a total of three.
The background... I love it! The cat it's simply cute. And You use the lights very good! I so envy you.
I love this.
Thanks for the watch as well. Your art is pretty amazing.
